08/20/2009 - Passing of Ron Verblauw
Ronald A. Verblauw, Past Division Director, Board Member and Patroller from
various ski areas in New Jersey and New Hampshire, passed away suddenly early
Friday morning
August 20, 2009
at
CMC Hospital in New Hampshire. Ron was Eastern Division Director 11 years ago.
Ron also did Special Olympics in New Hampshire when while at Waterville Valley.

Funeral Info
On Tuesday, 25 August, there will be a "sharing memorial service" at Chadwick
Funeral Service, 235 Main Street, New London, NH (the only one in town) at 10
am. Chadwick's phone number is 603-526-6442.
The formal funeral service and burial will be on Thursday, 27 August, at Notre
Dame Catholic Church, Central Avenue, North Caldwell, NJ at 11 am.

Sunapee, NH-
Ronald A. Verblauw, 75, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center
in Manchester, NH suddenly. He was born in Rochester, NY on December 23, 1933
the son of Joseph P. and Margaret (Bonte) Verblauw. He graduated from Cornell
University and lived in North Caldwell, NJ for many years before moving to
Sunapee, NH five years ago. He owned and operated Da-Ron Service Co. Inc. in NJ
for over 40 years retiring in 1998. Ron served in the US Air Force during the
Korean Conflict. He had been on various boards while living in NJ. He was a Past
District Governor of Rotary International District 7490 and Past Division
Director of National Ski Patrol (Eastern Division). Ron enjoyed skiing, boating,
and horseback riding. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joanna M. Verblauw in
NJ, in 1998. Members of his family surviving include his wife, Carol (Armstrong)
Verblauw of Sunapee, NH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Monica L. and Michael
Wroten of FL, Donna M. and Don Clayton of CO, and Rhonda A. and Tony Simons of
TX; five grandchildren, Jennifer L. Hackbarth-Parks of TN, Julie A. Hackbarth of
TN, Sgt. Mark A. Berkley of NM, Jacob Bergen of NC, and Spencer Berkley of CA;
and two great grandchildren, Haley G. Parks of TN and Hendrix Law Berkley of NM.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH
on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 10-11:30 A.M. A Memorial Mass will be
celebrated in NJ later in the week.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, NJ. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice or in Ron's
memory please do a kindness to another family in need.
