EDWARD HIRSHMAN - SKI ROUNDTOP

04/08/2020

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the news in the passing of Ski Roundtop Patroller, Edward F (Fast Eddie) Hirshman.

Eddie passed away Tuesday afternoon with his wife and daughter by his side. Eddie was a great friend and mentor to many of us in his 52 years of membership in the National Ski Patrol, his nine years of working with the Wounded Warrior Patrol and his work with local veterans’ events. Many of us were ‘eddieized’ over the years as he helped shape the future of the NSP. Whether it was as an instructor, TE, IT, or an officer, he always had a sense of who to work with and develop.

He worked tirelessly throughout his NSP career at the local patrol, Region, Division, and National level to develop patrollers, programs, and leaders. While he was on duty, the coffee pot was never empty. Due to the current corona virus situation, there will not be a public service. When we can all gather again as friends, we will announce a date and location where we can share our stories and remember Fast Eddie. Rest In Peace Eddie.
